Manville Man Who Sexually Assaulted 8-Year-Old Gets 4 Years In Prison, Prosecutor Says A 59-year-old New Jersey resident was sentenced to four years in state prison on Friday, June 14 for sexually assaulting an 8-year-old in 2022, authorities said. In March 2022, police began investigating after an 8-year-old said Raul Elias of Manville sexually assaulted her, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said.  Elias was subsequently convicted of endangering the welfare of a child in March 2024 after a three-day trial, authorities said. At 1:22 a.m., Irvington police responded to the 300 block of 21st Street and found Quashawn Moses suffering from gunshot wounds, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Roommate's Newark Killer Gets 22 Years, Prosecutor Says A 33-year-old Newark man was sentenced to 22 years in prison after being found guilty of stabbing his roommate to death at a shelter in 2022, authorities said. In February 2022, Michael Wylie snuck a knife into the H.E.L.P. Center Shelter and stabbed Kevin Williams, his roommate, in the face, neck and heart, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II said.  Wylie was arrested while still in possession of the knife, Stephens said. Wylie was convicted in April of aggravated manslaughter and weapons charges, Stephens said.
