Damaging Winds, Downpours Threaten Northeast As Storm System Nears: Updated Track, Timing
A new storm system is sharpening its aim.
Ahead of the system's arrival, it will be warmer and more humid on Wednesday, June 17. Skies will be mostly sunny during the day, with a slight chance of showers or scattered thunderstorms, mainly at night.
Widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely from midday into the afternoon on Thursday, June 18, across much of the Northeast, according to the National Weather Service.

A slender crescent moon will join Jupiter, Mercury, and Venus in the western sky Tuesday, June 16, through Thursday, June 18, creating one of the month’s best skywatching moments.
The best viewing window will be about 30 to 60 minutes after sunset. In the Northeast, that means roughly between 8:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Kollin Thomas Krier, 20, of Glen Rock, died after a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Ridge Road in Codorus Township on Saturday, June 13, according to the York County Coroner's Office.
