A busy Westchester County roadway was closed after a utility pole and transformer came crashing down, leaving live wires across the street and causing power outages.
The incident happened at Central Avenue and Battle Avenue in White Plains on Sunday, Aug. 23, according to the city.

A Rockland County man is behind bars after an 18-year-old woman told police she had been repeatedly sexually assaulted by him when she was a young child, authorities said.
Freddy Chicaiza-Quinde, age 44, of Suffern, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 19, following an investigation, the Spring Valley Police Department announced on Monday, Aug. 24.
The investigation began on Wednesday, Aug. 12, when the woman reported that an adult man had sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions when she was 8, police said.
