A 39-year-old man who ICE agents had apparently mistaken for another man who had already fled the country is facing federal charges, according to federal officials. Eduardo Cruz Garcia, of Barnegat, was charged by criminal complaint with assaulting a federal officer while the officer was performing official duties and inflicting bodily injury in connection to the Monday, June 15 incident on Route 72 in Manahawkin, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
