Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Route 9 In Central Jersey: Sayreville PD A pedestrian was struck and killed on Route 9 in Sayreville early Monday, Jan. 22, authorities said. The man's identification had not been released pending notification of kin, said Lt. James Novak, a Sayreville police spokesman. The fatal crash occurred at about 12:40 a.m. in the 900 block of Route 9 North near the Sunoco station, Novak said. The driver remained at the scene and no summonses had been issued, he said. The crash remains under investigation.
