HOLDEN, Mass. — Wachusett Regional High School had 144 students selected as recipients of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship this year as a result of their strong MCAS scores.
The John and Abigail Adams Scholarship awards non-need-based state-supported undergraduate tuition waivers to students who qualify by scoring in the advanced category in either the mathematics or the English language arts section of the grade 10 MCAS test, and score in the proficient or advanced category on the second subject.
Students must also have a combined MCAS score on these assessments that ranks in the top 25 percent in their school district.
Recipients of the scholarship are eligible for an award of a non-need-based tuition waiver for state-supported undergraduate courses. While in college, students are also required to maintain a GPA of 3.0 for continued eligibility.

Every little bit helps these days. Good for all of you. Your efforts and the education you received in the Wachusett Regional School District have really paid off. This is a notable achievement beyond its monetary value.
Congratulations to all these students! Just be aware of what we found: it does cover the "tuition" of about $1500 a year, but it doesn't cover the "curriculum fee" of about $9000.
