Submit Your Letters to TheDailyHolden.com

HOLDEN, Mass. — Holden's May 14 election is just around the corner, and in addition to providing local daily news, TheDailyHolden.com is also your forum to voice your opinions and incite discussion on the community issues that matter to you most. One of the best ways to do that is to send us a letter to the editor. So we want to hear from you and encourage you to submit your opinions — but we do want to clarify our policy.

All letters to the editor must be signed. We allow commenting on stories throughout our site without a name, but if you are submitting a letter, we do require that you sign it. If the letter is from multiple people, a committee, or a town organization, we still require the names of those authoring the statement.

If we receive a letter that is identical to one that is already on the site that appears to be a form letter, the letter will be pulled. If we receive a lot of letters on one topic, we reserve the right to not run them (in some cases, multiple letters on the same issue may be placed under the same headline.) Everyone is allowed one letter on a topic -- if they want to refute another letter or add additional info, they can use the comments section.

Letters may be edited for style (if we catch a misspelling, we're going to correct it) but not for content. Foul language will not be permitted.

Personal attacks should not be submitted. Though we will strive to use discernment in what we choose to publish or not publish, because all letters are archived, the author should be prudent about what they submit and how it will reflect upon them. Letters will not be removed from the website if you change your mind.

As we are an online publication, there is no limit to length but please be reasonable -- you want people to remember you for what you wrote, not how many words it took for you to sum up your point of view.

The Opinion section is your forum to incite discussion on issues that are important to the community. Though published on the site, the opinions expressed in the letters do not reflect those of TheDailyHolden.com.

That being said, we look forward to hearing from you!
