Obituary: Verona A. "Ronnie" Bentley

BARRE, Mass. - Verona A. "Ronnie" Bentley, of Barre, died peacefully in her sleep on August 13, 2012.

She leaves behind her daughter, Jenna Bentley-Yates and her husband Richard Yates of Tucson, AZ; her son, Scott Jared Bentley, his wife Leah, and grandsons, Kiernan & Caelin Bentley all of San Antonio, TX; Steve and Charlene Bentley of Barre; and Ashley Bentley and C.J. LaVallee of Holden.

Ronnie will always be remembered for her faith and love of Jesus and of her children whom she adored and was fiercely proud of. She loved animals, especially her dogs Sydney and Harley, cat Tippy and many other animals that meant so much to her though the years. She was a gifted gardener and a talented artist. Wickedly smart and surprisingly witty, she would frequently frustrate her children by rarely losing an argument. Noted for her exquisite penmanship, she passed this gift on to her children who are now known as the rare few in their fields with good handwriting.

She gave selflessly of herself to many throughout her life; in turn, she was profoundly grateful to Steve and Charlene who helped her weather many storms, especially the ice storm of 2009. Ronnie's passing leaves an immeasurable gap in the lives and hearts of her family and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at Hartman's Herb Farm located at 1026 Old Dana Road, Barre, MA  from 6-8 p.m.  onWednesday, Aug. 22.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to either New Life Assemble of God Church 60 Main St. PO Box 536. South Barre, MA 01074 or Bay State Equine Rescue at http://www.baystateequinerescue.org/
