Obituary: Richard W. Girard, Jr., 75

WORCESTER – Richard W. Girard, Jr., 75, died on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 53 years, Joan (Harwood) Girard; four children, Deborah M. Caola and her husband James of Shrewsbury, Lisa A. Wiseman and her husband James of Holden, Mark R. Girard of California and Michelle J. Reidy and her husband Sean of Auburn; a sister, Carol A. Harmon and her husband William of North Easton; nine grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew, Mark, Matthew, Jillian, Tyler, Aaron, Meghan and Briana; and nephews and nieces

He was born in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston, the son of Richard W. and Jean M. (Zabelski) Girard and lived most of his life in Worcester. He was a supervisor for over 35 years at Norton Company in Worcester before retiring.

A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, in St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
