HOLDEN/AUBURN, Mass. - Harriet R. (Auger) Flury, 105, of Holden and formerly of Auburn and Florida, died peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at the Holden Nursing Center, Holden.
Her husband, Robert M. Flury died in 1992.
She leaves her son, Paul F. Flury and his wife Patricia of Auburn; her daughter, Marjorie Tucker of Sutton; 21 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son, Robert W. Flury, and her daughters, Dorothy Spurgeon and Barbara Zona, as well as her siblings, William and John Auger, and Cordelia Weagle and Alexina Zecco.
She was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Henry N. and Melvina (Belanger) Auger and lived many years in Holden, and later Florida and Auburn before returning to Holden. A homemaker most of her life, Harriet also had worked as a stitcher for a shoe manufacturer and as a sales associate at a local card and paper store. She loved to garden, travel with her husband and had a great sense of humor and a sharp wit right to her last days. She will be missed by her family, as well as those who so lovingly cared for her.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Harriet's family on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A prayer service will then be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by burial in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester.
