WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Ameridose, a pharmaceutical firm at 205 Flanders Road in Westborough, has agreed to temporarily close while it is inspected by the Mass. Department of Public Health following the recent, fatal Meningitis outbreak across 10 states.
Ameridose is run by Barry Cadden and Greg Conigliaro, who also run New England Compounding Center Inc., a steroid company tabbed for producing a medication that contributed to the recent outbreak.
The Department of Public Health requested that the NECC give up its license to operate earlier this month, until investigations can be completed.
The DPH said the form of the meningitis is fungal, and not contagious between individuals. 137 cases of the disease have been identified nationwide, and 12 deaths.
Ameridose officials have not yet responded to requests for further information.
