HOLDEN, Mass. — Wachusett Greenways will hold its annual Springdale Mill Celebration on the Mass Central Rail Trail on Saturday, Sept. 29.

Whether starting from the entrance at Thomas Street in West Boylston or River Street in Holden, families are invited to hop on a bike, walk or run the rail trail and venture one and a half-mile to the historic woolen mill site for a family-friendly celebration.

The event will feature "music by Chas, good food, a mill treasure hunt, face painting, yoga and more," according to Wachusett Greenways President Colleen Abrams.

Wachusett Greenways is a grassroots team of volunteers working to expand a network of trails and open spaces linking local communities.

The group meets regularly to build and maintain trails, improve open spaces and reach out to the six towns served to promote sustainable and environmentally sensitive use of green spaces.

The Springdale Mill Celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, Saturday Sept. 29, rain or shine. All ages are welcome.
