HOLDEN, Mass. — The Holden Skate Park Committee will host its first Skate Jam this Friday at Dawson Recreation area, with skateboarders invited to come support the town's future skatepark for a day of skating, music and fun.
Ramps will be set up in the parking lot of the Dawson Recreation Area, and the Eastern Border Pro Team will show off their arsenal of tricks during a special demo.
Additionally, skateboarders can look forward to an exciting game of SKATE, which follows similar rules to the traditional game of HORSE on a basketball court, though with skateboard tricks in the place of shots on the hoop.
The event is part of a new push for fundraising for the Holden skateboard park project, which has a proposed location at Eagle Lake Park.
A newly reorganized, energetic group of board-members has been brainstorming ideas for both funding and outreach, such as the recent logo contest.
The Skate Jam will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, April 20, at Dawson Recreation Area on Salisbury Street. Skateboarders of all ages welcome.

All in favor of this and support it fully as long as not one dime of taxpayer funds is expended for this.
We are in dire fiscal peril. Let's stop kidding ourselves .....
