HOLDEN, Mass. — Holden children will once again have the opportunity to climb aboard the town's biggest and coolest vehicles at The Gale Free Library's upcoming Trucks, Diggers & Cruisers event.

One of the most anticipated library events of the summer, it provides an opportunity not only for kids to get up close and personal with a variety of different vehicles, but also for the town employees to share some of their own toys and interact with their youngest fans.

From police officers and firemen to public works and light department employees, members of each department get involved for this hands-on educational event.

While the trucks differ every year, past events have featured fire engines, dump trucks, and police cruisers, as well as  "Snuffleupagus" - the big white Department of Public Works truck used to clear the sewer station and clogged drainage pipes.

Held in the Municipal Parking Lot across from the Library, this year's Truck Day is set to run from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18.

To get ready for the annual Truck Day, children ages 3 1/2 and up are invited to visit the library from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 12 for related stories and crafts to take home. This event is for ages 3 1/2 & up with a caregiver. To register, call 508-210-5564.
