HOLDEN, Mass. — The annual Softball Championship game between the Holden Area Chamber of Commerce and town of Holden employees has been postponed to Thursday, Sept. 13, due to the rainy weather and wet field conditions Wednesday.

The game is set for 5:30 p.m. at the Davis Hill Elementary School, 80 Jamieson Road.

The Chamber of Commerce is looking to defend its title after winning back the crown last year with a 14-9 victory, putting an end to a three-year streak of town employee wins.

The friendly competition has become a tradition, pitting the men and women that make up Holden's business world against the firefighters, clerks, police officers and other town employees.

Players are still needed to complete the team rosters. Residents are encouraged to attend the game to cheer on their favorite team.

For additional information, contact Rosemary Scully at the town assessor’s office at 508-829-0293 or the chamber office at 508-829-9220. The event is sponsored by Holden Discount Oil.
