HOLDEN, Mass. — Residents looking to get rid of their Christmas trees can call Holden Boys Scout Troop 182 to participate in its tree pickup fundraiser this Saturday.
To save families the hassle of the task, the scouts will go directly to houses and take the old trees to the town disposal facility.
The annual fundraiser helps the scouts pay for their summer camp experience. Last year, the troop's efforts raised money toward their adventure to Florida Sea Base, which was a rewarding learning opportunity on the high seas.
The troop will be picking up trees from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5. Families are asked to remove all ornaments from the trees before pickup.
To participate, contact Steve at 508-829-7922 or by email at trees@holdentroop182.org.
