HOLDEN, Mass. — Now that Christmas is over, residents looking for an easy way to remove their old tannenbaums can look to the Boy Scouts of Troop 182, who have once again started their annual Christmas Tree pickup fundraiser. The effort helps raise money for the boy's trip to the Florida Sea Base, a camp that offers a variety of programs including sailing, ecology and SCUBA, and will give the boys theopportunity to learn teamwork and skills that will serve them for life. In order to go on the trip, the boys have had to work together to raise funds, and the Christmas Tree disposal has helped them get even closer to their high seas adventure. To help Boy Scout Troop 182 accomplish their goal, and save yourself the hassle of getting rid of your Christmas Tree, call (508) 829-7922 or e-mail trees@holdentroop182.org to sign up to have the scouts pick up the tree and dispose of it on Jan. 7 and 8, for only $20.
