HOLDEN, Mass. — Residents will have a new opportunity to enjoy some good reads and lively literary discussion with two book groups that will be starting at the Gale Free Library this October.
A classics book group, moderated by Holden resident Ginny Powell, will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 20 to discuss Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night", wth an optional group outing to an Actor's Shakespeare Project performance of this play which runs from Sept. 27 - Oct. 23 in Boston.
The classics book group schedule is:
Thursday, Dec. 15 - 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. "Persuasion" by Jane Austen.
Thursday, Jan. 19 - 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. "Medea" by Euripedes.
There will also be an optional group outing to an Actor's Shakespeare Project performance of this play which runs from Feb. 8 - Mar. 4 in Cambridge.
Thursday, March 15 - 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. "Vilette" by Charlotte Bronte.
Another library sponsored group will meet for the first time on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the library program room. The group will be discussing "The Language of Flowers" by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. Further dates for this group will be posted at the library once determined.
