Cosmic Slim And His Intergalactic Plowboys: 8:30 p.m. Live music at the Blue Plate Lounge. $5. 661 Main St.

Saturday, Jan. 5

DPW Christmas tree chipping: 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Open to Holden residents only and is free of charge. Proof of residency may by required. All trees must be free from all decorations and any wires or any objects that will damage the chipper. Adams Road Department of Public Works parking lot.

Boy Scout Troop Christmas Tree Pick-up: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Troop 182, First Holden Baptist Church, will be having a Christmas tree pick up fundraiser. The Scouts will come to your house and take it to the town disposal facility. Please have all ornament off the tree before time of pick up. Spirit of Hope 2013 Annual Pancake Breakfast: 8-11:30 a.m. Spirit of Hope is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization that raises money to help people working to rebuild in Haiti. Adults $10. Children $5. Reserve tickets by visiting the website or by calling 877-942-7627. Holden Senior Center.
