NORTH SALEM - Rocky ran off on the morning of Sunday June 12, frightened by some landscapers who came to work in the yard.

Rocky lives with Carol Bartlik on Route 116 in North Salem, near the Ruth Keeler Library. He is a 7-year-old black and tan English Toy Spaniel. He weighs about 12 pounds and is wearing a multi-colored collar.

There have been several sightings during the past week. On Monday, June 13, he was spotted by a school bus driver on Route 121 near Silo Ridge. The next morning someone saw him on Hawley Road, near Grants Corners. On Wednesday, the June 15, he was seen at the end of Lost Pond Road. There is a possibility that he is now in the vicinity of the North Salem High School track.

Bartlik explained that "Rocky is shy and may run away from adults, but he loves and trusts children and may possibly be coaxed by them with food."

"Most important of all, he is harmless," she added. "He will not bite."

Anyone who spots Rocky is asked to call one of the following telephone numbers: 914-669-5279, 914-548-1675 or 914-621-7743.

A reward is offered for Rocky's return.
