Woman Asleep On Briarcliff Road Charged With DWI

A 22-year-old Harrison woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after taking a rest in her vehicle in the middle of Pleasantville Road near South State Road in Briarcliff, police said.

Amy Claire Weber was slumped across the front passenger seat with her jeep motor running and headlights on on June 9 at around 11:30 p.m. when Briarcliff police officer Frederick Galbraith approached her, police said.

According to police records, it took several attempts for Galbraith to wake Weber up. When she did wake up, Galbraith noticed that her eyes were bloodshot and her breath smelled of alcohol.

Galbraith asked Weber for her driver's license, and she handed him a cup of coffee, police said.

Weber was then administered three sobriety tests by police which she failed, records show.

Weber was arrested and later released on $100 cash bail.
