Norwalker With Loaded Pistol Arrested

A Norwalk man was found with a fully loaded .25-caliber handgun Saturday. Denzel Washington, 20, of 43 Orchard St., was arrested and charged with carrying a gun without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and possession of alcohol by a minor. Bond was set at $25,000.

Police say special services officers approached the car Washington was in and observed narcotics and alcohol. A passenger not old enough to be drinking was in the car. They searched the car and found the gun, which had a bullet in its chamber.

Also on the police blotter:

• An intoxicated man allegedly fondled a 5-year-old's buttocks during a party late Saturday in Ryan Park. Freddy Navarro, 52, was arrested and charged with breach of peace, fourth-degree sexual assault, and injury/risk/impairing morals. Bond was set at $10,000.

Police say Navarro was talking to the girl's uncle at the party, when he touched the girl. Her mother was at another part of the party but complained to police. Navarro could provide no explanation, because of his state of drunkenness, police say.

• A Lexington Avenue resident was shot Saturday night – by his roommate using an airsoft BB gun. Police say the man came home from work and was cleaning the kitchen, while his roommate was playing with his Airsoft gun, which shoots plastic pellets. The man was shot and called police. The victim had two marks on his abdomen. The juvenile offender was charged with reckless endangerment.
